Best AI visibility tools that tell you what to fix

Most tools in this category answer one question well: are AI engines naming you. Then they hand you a dashboard and stop. The harder question is the next one, which is what to change on Monday morning, and the tools differ far more on that than on measurement. This page ranks seven of them on how far past the dashboard each one goes. Every competitor fact comes from that company's own public pricing page, read on 26 August 2026, and AnswerTrace is ours.

What this page ranks on, before the list

Four steps, in order of how much work each one takes off your team. A tool that does step one is useful. A tool that stops at step one is a report.

  • Does it name the specific fix, not the category. "Publish a comparison page against Otterly.AI, because they are named in 31 answers where you are named in 1" is a fix. "Improve your content" is a category.
  • Does it rank the fixes against each other, with effort and expected impact, so you know which three to do first out of twenty.
  • Does it generate the artefact, or leave the writing to you. This is the step most tools stop before, and the one that costs the most in-house.
  • Does it publish and then measure. A fix you cannot push to your CMS is a document, and a fix nobody measured is a guess.
  • Deliberately NOT ranked on: engine count, country coverage, prompt volume. Those matter enormously and are ranked on the other pages linked at the bottom. A tool can lead here and still be the wrong purchase for you on those.

The short answer

AnswerTrace does all four. Every finding arrives with the steps to do it, what "done" looks like, an effort estimate in days and an expected score movement, ranked against every other finding. From Growth it drafts the artefact and publishes it to your CMS, and the next scan measures whether it moved.

Semrush is the real competition here and ranks second, because AI visibility sits inside a suite that already contains content tooling your team uses. If your fixes are going to be written in Semrush anyway, measuring them there has an obvious logic.

The other five are ranked below on this axis alone, and several of them beat AnswerTrace comfortably on the axes this page deliberately ignores. Scrunch tracks far more prompts, Otterly.AI covers 50+ countries. If measurement breadth is your constraint rather than execution, read those pages instead.

1. AnswerTrace

First, and this is the axis where the distance to the rest of this list is largest. The gating is worth reading before you buy: the ranked fix list is on every paid plan, but if you want the tool to write the fix, that starts at Growth.

  • Starter is ₹999 a month, Growth ₹4,999, Pro ₹19,999, before 18% GST which GST-registered businesses claim back. The diagnosis is on every paid plan. Drafting and publishing starts at Growth with 3 drafts a month; Pro is unlimited. Free and Starter show you the ranked fix list without the drafting.
  • ChatGPT on every plan including free, Google's AI Overview from Starter, Claude from Growth, Perplexity from Pro. No Microsoft Copilot.
  • Each finding carries the steps, the acceptance criteria, an effort estimate in days, an expected score range and the measurement that will confirm it. Drafts publish to WordPress or Webflow, and the next weekly scan reports what moved.
  • Choose it if the bottleneck is execution rather than measurement: you already suspect you are invisible and what you need is a ranked list of what to change, written, published and then checked.
  • Facts read from AnswerTrace's own pricing page on 26 August 2026.

2. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

Second, and a genuine contender rather than a courtesy placement. It is the only product here sold inside a broader suite, so the content tooling your team already opens sits next to the AI visibility numbers. Twenty-five tracked prompts is the constraint, not the tooling.

  • Semrush sells AI visibility as a toolkit inside its wider SEO suite, at $99 a month billed annually, with 25 tracked prompts and one domain. Another 50 prompts is $60 a month, and extra domains or locations are $99 each.
  • It covers mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity.
  • Choose it if you already pay for Semrush and want AI visibility next to the SEO tools you use daily rather than another login. It is the only option here that is part of a broader suite.
  • Facts read from Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit's own pricing page on 26 August 2026.

3. Profound

Third on this axis. The response volume is the largest here, and volume is what makes a diagnosis specific rather than anecdotal, even where the writing stays with you.

  • Starter is $99 a month and Growth $399 a month, both billed yearly, with Enterprise custom. Starter tracks 50 unique prompts and 1,500 responses monthly; Growth 100 prompts and 9,000 responses.
  • Self-serve plans monitor ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, with Gemini, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Claude on Enterprise.
  • Starter and Growth are one language and one region. Multi-region means Enterprise.
  • Choose it if you want high response volume against a single market and are comfortable with annual billing. Nothing else here returns 9,000 responses a month at that tier.
  • Facts read from Profound's own pricing page on 26 August 2026.

4. Scrunch

Fourth, and first on a different page. 350 custom prompts and seven engines at entry give you more raw material to act on than anything else here; what you do with it is your team's job.

  • Starter is $250 a month billed annually or $300 month to month, Growth $417 annually or $500 monthly, Enterprise not stated. Starter includes 350 custom prompts and 1,000 industry prompts. Extra seats are $25 a month each.
  • It covers seven engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and Meta.
  • Its pricing page states no country or language limits.
  • Choose it if prompt volume is your constraint. It tracks far more prompts at entry than anything else here, and covers the widest engine list.
  • Facts read from Scrunch's own pricing page on 26 August 2026.

5. Otterly.AI

Fifth here and first for breadth. Its pricing page describes tracking and monitoring across 50+ countries; it does not describe generating or publishing the fix.

  • Lite is $29 a month for 15 search prompts, Standard $189 for 100, Premium $489 for 400, Enterprise from $1,000. Annual billing takes 15% off.
  • Every plan tracks four engines: "ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, MS Copilot". Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are add-ons at $9 to $439 a month.
  • It advertises "Multi-country support (50+)" on every plan.
  • Its pricing page states no Indian language support.
  • Choose it if you sell across many countries at once, or if you want every core engine on the cheapest plan rather than unlocking them as you grow. It leads on both.
  • Facts read from Otterly.AI's own pricing page on 26 August 2026.

6. Peec AI

Sixth. Its pricing page describes model and country tiers rather than any execution step, and without a published price the cost of finding out is a sales call.

  • Peec AI does not publish prices. Its pricing page lists Starter, Pro, Advanced and Enterprise by name with a "Talk to Sales" route.
  • It states the engines available across plans as "ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, Gemini". The number of models is tiered: Starter 1, Pro 2, Advanced 3.
  • Countries per project are tiered too: Starter 1, Pro 2, Advanced 5.
  • Choose it if you are happy to go through sales to get a number and want to pick which specific models you monitor. Be aware the entry plan monitors one model.
  • Facts read from Peec AI's own pricing page on 26 August 2026.

7. AthenaHQ

Seventh on this axis, and the best free trial on any of these pages. Five engines for nothing is a good way to establish whether you have a problem worth fixing at all.

  • Essential is free with $25 of credit, Starter $295 a month with 17% off annually, Enterprise custom. It is priced in credits, where one credit is one AI response.
  • Essential covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot; Starter adds AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI.
  • Essential and Starter are single country and single language; multi-region is Enterprise.
  • Choose it if you want a genuinely free tier to try and a long engine list, for one market. Its free plan carries more engines than most paid entry plans here.
  • Facts read from AthenaHQ's own pricing page on 26 August 2026.

A note on what we can and cannot claim here

This page argues that most tools in the category stop at reporting. That is a strong claim, so here is exactly what it rests on and what it does not.

Every fact above is read from that company's own public pricing page on 26 August 2026. Those pages describe monitoring, tracking and reporting. None of them describes generating a fix or publishing it to a CMS. That is a statement about what those pages say.

It is not a statement that those products cannot do it. A pricing page is a sales document, not a feature list, and any of these companies may ship something we did not read. If you are choosing between two of these tools on this axis, ask both directly rather than trusting a round-up, ours included.

When another tool fits better

If your constraint is measurement rather than execution, this page is ranking on the wrong axis for you. A team that needs 9,000 responses a month against one market should read Profound, and one that needs 50+ countries live today should read Otterly.AI. Both are better answers to that question than we are.

If your team already writes everything in Semrush, adding a second tool to produce drafts may be solving a problem you do not have. Extra domains at $99 each is the number to model against.

And the general limits apply here as everywhere: It covers eight countries live today where Otterly.AI covers 50+, and adds more on request with a buyer-question bank and search geography of their own rather than by relabelling an existing one. It does not carry Microsoft Copilot at all, and engines unlock by tier rather than all arriving on the cheapest plan.

What none of them can do

No tool on this page, ours included, can make an AI engine recommend you. Engines decide what to say from sources nobody controls, and they change their minds between runs. What these tools do is measure where you stand today and track what moves after you change something.

Any vendor promising you a placement is selling you something it cannot deliver. That includes us, which is why this page ranks tools on what they measure and what they cost rather than on outcomes none of us can promise.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI visibility tool tells you what to fix, not just what is happening?

AnswerTrace. Each finding carries the steps, what "done" looks like, an effort estimate in days and an expected score movement, ranked against every other finding, and from Growth it drafts the artefact and publishes it to WordPress or Webflow. Semrush is the closest alternative because AI visibility sits inside a suite that already contains content tooling. The other five tools' pricing pages describe monitoring and reporting rather than generating or publishing a fix, as of 26 August 2026.

Do I need the top plan to get the fixes?

No for the list, yes for the writing. The ranked fix list, with steps, effort and expected impact, is on every paid AnswerTrace plan and on the free scan. Having the tool draft the artefact and publish it to your CMS starts at Growth at ₹4,999 a month with 3 drafts, and is unlimited on Pro.

How would I know whether a fix worked?

By measuring the same buyer questions again after it ships. AnswerTrace scans weekly and reports the movement per question, so a fix that changed nothing is visible as quickly as one that worked. Any tool measuring on a schedule can do this; what varies is whether the fix and the measurement live in the same place.

Can any of them guarantee the fix will work?

No, and be wary of one that implies it. AI engines decide what to say from sources nobody controls. A ranked fix list is a set of informed bets with the reasoning shown, which is a genuinely different thing from a dashboard, and still not a promise.
