AI visibility tools compared
Seven tools that measure whether AI engines name your brand, including ours. Every price and feature below was read from that vendor's own public pricing page on 26 August 2026 and is linked so you can check it. Where a vendor does not publish something, this says so rather than guessing.
How to choose between them
These tools all do the same core thing: ask AI engines buyer questions and record which brands come back. They differ on four axes, and only one of them usually decides it for you.
- How many engines, and at which price. Some include every engine on the cheapest plan; others unlock them as you go up, or sell them as add-ons.
- How many buyer questions per month, which is the real unit of cost. A cheap plan tracking 15 questions can cost more per question than a dearer one tracking 100.
- How many countries and languages, and at which tier. Several of these tools limit self-serve plans to one region and one language, which matters enormously if you sell in more than one.
- Whether it stops at monitoring or goes on to diagnosis. Some report what is happening; others also tell you which pages to change.
Otterly.AI
Lite is $29 a month for 15 search prompts, Standard $189 for 100, Premium $489 for 400, Enterprise from $1,000. Annual billing takes 15% off. Every plan tracks four engines: "ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, MS Copilot". Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are add-ons at $9 to $439 a month. It advertises "Multi-country support (50+)" on every plan. Checked 26 August 2026.
Choose it if you sell across many countries, or if you want every core engine on the cheapest plan rather than unlocking them as you grow. It is the breadth leader here on both counts.
Profound
Starter is $99 a month and Growth $399 a month, both billed yearly, with Enterprise custom. Starter tracks 50 unique prompts and 1,500 responses monthly; Growth 100 prompts and 9,000 responses. Self-serve plans monitor ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, with Gemini, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Claude on Enterprise. Checked 26 August 2026.
Note the limit that catches people out: Starter and Growth are one language and one region. Multi-region means Enterprise.
Choose it if you want high response volume against a single market and are comfortable with annual billing.
Scrunch
Starter is $250 a month billed annually or $300 month to month; Growth $417 annually or $500 monthly; Enterprise not stated. Starter includes 350 custom prompts and 1,000 industry prompts. It covers seven engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and Meta. Extra seats are $25 a month each. Its pricing page states no country or language limits. Checked 26 August 2026.
Choose it if prompt volume is your constraint. It tracks far more prompts at entry than anything else here, and covers the widest engine list.
AthenaHQ
Essential is free with $25 of credit, Starter $295 a month with 17% off annually, Enterprise custom. It is priced in credits, where one credit is one AI response. Essential covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot; Starter adds AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI. Essential and Starter are single country and single language; multi-region is Enterprise. Checked 26 August 2026.
Choose it if you want a genuinely free tier to try, and a long engine list, for one market.
Peec AI
Peec AI does not publish prices. Its pricing page lists Starter, Pro, Advanced and Enterprise by name with a "Talk to Sales" route, and states the engines available across plans as "ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, Gemini". The number of models is tiered: Starter 1, Pro 2, Advanced 3. Countries per project are tiered too: Starter 1, Pro 2, Advanced 5. Checked 26 August 2026.
Choose it if you are happy to go through sales to get a number, and want to pick which specific models you monitor. Be aware that the entry plan monitors one model.
Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
Semrush sells AI visibility as a toolkit inside its wider SEO suite, at $99 a month billed annually, covering mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity with 25 tracked prompts and one domain. Another 50 prompts is $60 a month, and extra domains or locations are $99 each. Checked 26 August 2026.
Choose it if you already pay for Semrush and want AI visibility next to the SEO tools you use daily, rather than another login. It is the only option here that is part of a broader suite.
AnswerTrace (ours)
Free plan with a real scan on ChatGPT and no credit card. Starter is ₹999 a month for 25 buyer questions per scan, adding Google's AI Overview. Growth is ₹4,999 for 100 questions, adding Claude. Perplexity unlocks on Pro. Prices exclude 18% GST.
It measures from eight countries, and in Hinglish, Hindi and regional Indian languages including Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati, Punjabi and Malayalam, treating each language as a separate question rather than a translation. Inside India it can narrow to a city. It goes past monitoring: it explains which buyer questions you lose and why, ranks fixes, and tracks what moved after each one.
Its limits, stated in the same voice as everyone else’s: eight countries is far fewer than Otterly.AI’s fifty-plus, it does not cover Microsoft Copilot at all, and engines unlock by tier rather than all arriving on the cheapest plan.
Choose it if India is a market that matters to you, if you need Indian languages measured properly, or if you want the tool to tell you what to fix rather than only what is happening.
The honest summary
If you sell in many countries, Otterly.AI covers the most. If prompt volume is your constraint, Scrunch tracks the most at entry. If you want a free tier and a long engine list for one market, AthenaHQ. If you already live in Semrush, use their toolkit. If India matters, ours.
None of these tools can promise an AI engine will recommend you, including ours. They measure, and the good ones tell you what correlates with change. Treat any vendor claiming a guaranteed ranking with suspicion.
Frequently asked questions
What are the alternatives to AnswerTrace?
The main ones are Otterly.AI, Profound, Scrunch, AthenaHQ, Peec AI and Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit. They all measure whether AI engines name your brand; they differ mainly on how many countries and languages they cover, how many prompts they track, and whether they stop at monitoring or go on to diagnosis. Facts checked 26 August 2026.
Which AI visibility tool is cheapest?
On published entry prices, Otterly.AI Lite at $29 a month is the cheapest paid plan, though it tracks 15 prompts. AthenaHQ and AnswerTrace both have free tiers. Cost per tracked question is a better comparison than headline price: a $29 plan tracking 15 prompts is not cheaper per question than a $99 plan tracking 50. Checked 26 August 2026.
Which AI visibility tools support multiple countries and languages?
Otterly.AI advertises 50+ countries on every plan. AnswerTrace covers eight countries with Indian language depth. Profound and AthenaHQ both limit self-serve plans to one region and one language, with multi-region on Enterprise. Peec AI tiers countries per project from one to five. Checked 26 August 2026.
Does Peec AI publish its prices?
No. As of 26 August 2026, Peec AI's pricing page lists plan names, model counts and country limits, but routes to "Talk to Sales" for pricing.
Can any AI visibility tool guarantee my brand gets recommended?
No. AI engines decide what to say from sources nobody controls. These tools measure where you stand and track what changes after you act. Any vendor promising a guaranteed ranking in AI answers is overselling.
